Well, today was the day that my group of running friends were able to be kids again. Tutus...tiaras...glitter! We ran the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon this morning. As the alarm went off at 4:15 (actually 3:15 because of the SPRING forward), I thought to myself...hmmm...why am doing this again? Oh yeah to dress up! So I rolled out of the bed (I stayed at my sisters house so we could go straight to Disney). After putting on the usual...shirt, tiara, shoes, shorts, tutu, throw away shirt, race number... I was ready to go and we were off. At bag check in G we met the rest of the princesses in our group and we made the 1 mile walk to the start. Anthem, fireworks, greetings from Cinderella..then we began the RUN! We did not have a race time goal but wanted to break 2 hours (of course NO goal though). I have to say, overall it was a tough race but we finished in 1 hr 56 minutes!!! I crossed the finish line holding my sisters hand. Man am I going to miss her when she moves. It is such a great feeling to finish a race and share the accomplishment with my closest friends! Oh yeah and did I mention that Jo-Anne (a friend in the group) PR'd (personal record). She beat her last time by 10 minutes. Way to go girl!!! Overall, I felt like such a princess at the end. Maybe next time my prince will meet me at the end!

ReplyDeletePS if you want to make your pics bigger... as you are downloading them it will ask you on the bottom right to select WHAT SIZE you want to download. Select LARGE. It won't take that much longer to download & it will be totally worth it
